ITV will not renew Andy Townsend's contract after losing Champions League, Europa League and FA Cup rights
ITV have lost rights to the Champions League, Europa League and FA Cup
They will not renew the contracts of Andy Townsend and Matt Smith
Townsend has worked as a pundit on ITV for nearly 15 years
ITV Sport, having lost their FA Cup and live Champions League and Europa League rights, will not be renewing the contracts of pundit Andy Townsend and presenter Matt Smith at the end of the season.
The decision was mutual with Townsend, one of the best operators in the difficult role of co-commentator.
He wants to work on live football and has offers from other international broadcasters.

And on that subject, at Villa park one game, someone shouted out 'You're a Chelsea cunt big nose' to which some bloke behind started crying and offering the fella out stating that he was Andy Townsend's brother in law.
What a fucking sap, people with no sense of humour shouldn't be allowed into a football ground.

Has Phil NEVILLE co-commentated since the England-Italy game?
That was the worst I think I've ever heard. Apart from one bloke, back in the late 80s or early 90s I think, that actually made me watch the game with the sound off.
Fuck knows who he was but he nearly reduced me to tears.
